Formal Dedication and Ribbon Cutting of the
new Freeport Central Fire Station
June 2013

The Ambassadors, Mayor Jim Gitz, Fire Chief Kevin Countryman, Police Chief Jerry Whitmore, and former Mayor George Gaulrapp headlined a formal dedication of the new Freeport Central Fire Station.  The building located at the corner of South Street and Walnut Avenue will serve as an auxiliary building to the Freeport Police Department.  We would like to say a special thank you to the City of Freeport, Winter Construction, Freeport Fire, and Police Departments for allowing us to be a part of this very special day.  If you are out and about drive by and see the latest addition to Freeport!  Congratulations to everyone involved in making this new Firestation a reality!

We would like to say thank you to everyone who attended the YPN Young Professionals Network Lunch N' Learn this month at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. We hope you enjoyed the Luncheon!  We would also like to say a special thank you to our Guest Speakers Dan Schmitt, Executive Director of the Freeport Community Foundation and Tiffany Nieman, Executive Director of United Way of Northwest Illinois for taking the time to come discuss different ways young people can get involved with the community and make a difference.  Thank you!

We would like say thank you to everyone who attended our Rise 'N Shine Breakfast at Frontier Communications.  Everyone enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast and had some time to do some important networking!  We would like to say a special thank you to Kent Klima, Jason Broshous and everyone at Frontier Communications for all your hard work to make this event a success!

The Ambassadors cut the ribbon along with the Freeport Housing Authority to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Veteran's Memorial Garden located at the Hosmer High Rise 601 N. Walnut in Freeport.  Stop by and see this beautiful garden for yourself!  Thank you to Larry Williams and everyone at the Freeport Housing Authority for allowing us to be there to help celebrate this special day!     

2013 Memorial Day Parade

The Freeport Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors had a great time at the 2013 Freeport Memorial Day Parade this year.  We hope everyone enjoyed the parade and the long holiday weekend!  The Chamber would like to say a special thank you to all our Military Veterans past, present, and future.  Thank you for all you do!

The Ambassadors cut the ribbon along with Freeport Housing Authority to celebrate the Open House for the Workforce Development Institute located at the FHA Empowerment Center located at 1052 W. Galena in Freeport.  We would like to say thank you to Larry Williams and everyone at Freeport Housing Authority for allowing us to be there to celebrate this special day.  Stop by the Empowerment Center and see what the Workforce Development Institute can do!

We would like to thank everyone for coming out to our Business after Hours this month Hosted by Fairway Ford Lincoln.  We had an excellent turnout!  Everyone enjoyed delicious food from the Rafters in Lena and was able to do some important networking.  We would also like to say a special thank you to Adam Tollers and everyone at Fairway Ford Lincoln for making this event a complete success.   Along with the Rafters for all the hard work and for all the hospitality.  Thank you!
